Overall Analysis
China's drastic measure to contain the internet influence especially from the United States and the rest of the world is a very big effort of censorship that controls how the Chinese society is influence. This censorship benefits the Chinese government because they are able to control the minds of their people, which synchronizes their output into society to where it reflects the agenda of the government. This virtual isolation is similar and is also practiced by the North Korean regime, a country that practices censorship in many ways. However, the Chinese people have much more internet freedom than the North Koreans, as the Chinese have a filtered cyberspace available to the public and North Koreans have limited internet access unless they are part of the government.
China's strive to have equality for the sexes, is a complete "u turn" from its former self back in the Han Dynasty, where bureaucratic state official exams were only available for men. The government and political alumni were also men at the time, but during the modern era, women were able to serve positions in the government (Communist Party). However, even though efforts were made to grant equal rights for men and women, the equality between the sexes was still undermined. For centuries men have always been preferred over women in China and this traditional ideal still impacts Chinese society through the one child policy. Families are more likely to consider male children because they're deemed to be far superior than female children, which leads to the great disowning of thousands of female babies. Even if women in China have the ability to pursue things that were once only available for men, they are not found equal to men as they are considered inferior.
